MPC1000 as control surface?

Apologies if this has been covered before...

Can the MPC be used as a full-fledged control surface for a sequencer, such as Logic? Now, I can send midi notes via the pads, and can sync the MPC to Logic, but is there some way to use the MPC as a full-fledged control surface? I am mainly concerned with being able to use the transport buttons - when it's synced to Logic as a master the trasnport buttons will stop and and start Logic, but the record button does nothing and Logic does not loop with the MPC - logic just keeps going while the MPC loops.

So, I want to be able to use MPC transport buttons while the MPC is slaved to Logic (or not synced at all). This would amount to the MPC just functioning as a control surface like the MPD24. As I said, I know how to transmit pad info but what about using the sliders and knobs as well?

you can use the mpc (any mpc) for just pads in programs like reason, logic and the sort. if you are talking about using the mpc to control soft synths and vst's for logic, then yes, you can. exactly how??? i'm not sure but i know for a fact, you can use it that way in reason. so for logic, read the manual on connecting a control surface.

but you can't use the pads or qlinks to control midi ccs. yet.

It looks like th MPC only sends out 3 MTC commands : Stop, Play and Record. Overdub also sends out the record command.

you can download this program, Max/MSP, which I use to intercept the MTC commands and do with them what I would like - trigger local sounds, trigger other MIDI notes, or CC messages, etc.

OK - thanks. So it sounds like the answer to my question, then, is "No" - if the sliders, knobs etc don't send midi data then there's no way to use it as a controller (other than the pads and start, stop, record).

it's nice with even a basic midi controller. i use a cheap radium.

in reason i select both radium and mpc in my running midi control surface list. i dupe reason into believing that my mpc is a radium as well, so my pc thinks 2 radiums are hoooked up to it. then i turned MIDI THRU on in my mpc so all radium movements slide right through. the mpc acts as a net that catches these movements.
