needed in next update!

Bluebox is killing me its not working correctly i wonder if its possible for jj to make it so that when you mount your mpc via usb to drag and drop samples to make pgms. I dont need anything fancy just drag and drop to the pads?

as of yet there's been nothing to suggest usb access to ram

why is bluebox killing you? it's a good program.

I thought it actually wasn't physically possible to do this...because of how the 1k is wired.

My understanding is that the USB can only access the storage medium and that's it. Can anyone confirm this?

i'm pretty sure that's the case. i'd love for it to be able to access the ram but i doubt we'll ever see that in the 1k. what a shame...first that it's only usb 1.0 (wtf) and 2nd that the hardware is not fully actualized

bluebox is not wanting to load my samples any more its constant errors and saving problems. I have the latest version and have uninstalled and reinstalled it several times still receiving midi note errors.

If its not possible to drag and drop to the pads then i wish jj would just make a quick bluebox alternative for us. i dont need any of the functions besides load and save pgm.

i tried that its still not working any other thoughts? I spent last night making them by hand in the mpc which was not bad but way to time consuming.

no other thoughts. dunno what i'm doing that you're not. granted, i don't use bluebox much. i mostly just make my pgms in the mpc.

however, here's something that owuld make THAT a lot easier. why the HELL doesn't the file structure make it so the most recently created sample came first in the list when you go to make your pgm?

this is causing us all a LOT of wear on our data wheels

yes, same as the mpc2000 i beleive.

i think theres plenty of room for improvement with sample-to-pad assignment.

bluebox is cool, its a great piece of free development, but i personally don't use it much. the drag-and-drop side of it isnt quite there (it doesnt follow the standard windows protocols too closely)

seeing how JJ was able to step back and look at global pad assign, the load screen, file renaming etc etc - i'm SURE he can come up with an ingenious way to get samples into the MPC and onto pads with the MINIMUM of fuss and MAXIMUM of artificial-intelligence...

i need to write down the things i think SHOULD happen or be available the next time i get on the 1k

Yes, some kind of simple 'map all samples in a folder to pads' thing would be really handy - I guess I'd use that all the time. So it turns a folder into a program.

good things need certain time, in addition to that it is very practical that programming *.pgm data in the mpc gives you the ability to prelisten how it will sound on a performance while bluebox can't give you that...

I dont care i just need the ability to drag samples to pads nothing fancy. I will do all the other work inside the mpc. Also how about being able to designate a seprate folder to samples when recording. Example make folder new samples and everything you sample from the inputs go into that folder instead.

yes and can it use spectral analysis to identify kicks snares and hats, and assign to the pads according to a template (tell the MPC what you like, kicks on bottom row or left col, or kick next to snare etc)

also while its at it can it set up an 8th note hat 2 bar pattern with snares on 5 and 13 and kicks on the 1...thanks
