I'm about to buy my first MPC. I want to be able to program drum loops and then record bits of improvised guitar parts on top of my foundation in real time to ensure correct time. Possible with the 1000 or only with the 2500? What about the 3000, 2000xl, or 60? I can only afford one sampler (and barely at that) and that is one of the most important functions. Cheers...

Just so you know... you do have to stop the sequencer to record audio over-dubs, so it's not quite like an echoplex looper, and also, there's only 4 tracks that have this function, but there's work arounds, and I heard talk of more direct record tracks in future JJ os updates.

That being said, it is a nice feature that works well, and may be better in the future!
I'm not sure how it stacks up against the 2500.
