wassup Beat heads...i was wondering what are some good progams to use in my PC so that i can use with my MPC...I needed somthing to record and mix down the beats......I was told acid and cool edit is good so let me know wassup.....

Cool Edit is a pretty solid program..... But for tracking out, I'd probably recommend Sonar or Cubase.... Even though in the end they all probably do about the same thing.

I've used Cakewalk since 95' and drifted to Steinberg in 2000 because of the control surface support. But I found myself have to deal with a huge learning curve compared to working with Cakewalk products. If you want make music and not get too technical, go with Cakewalk/Sonar 3. I think Cubase & Nuendo are a bit more advanded and are great once you get over the learning curve. I just want to hit record and go..

Don't forget pro tools 01 or 02. with only 2 screens to deal with, and a lot of editing capabilities :D
