Whats your stand on this?

If I download an mp3 and sample it, is it wack?

if I find breaks on the internet? is it wack?

Where does the line between an, old school akai/asr 100 meg sample disk and 6. gig of vst, just for bass, go?

peace.

it's all on you ,
me i personally dig diggin for records, all tho i will use what ever it takes to make my music but i try to stick to my vinyl and only use other stuff as least as possible,
but that doesnt mean that sampling from movies is part of what your talkin about .
cause i will sample movies in a heartbeat thats something i have always done and will do, i love me some intros to my music or mixes.

but if i use a cd i wouldnt go around tellin people i sampled it from cd.

for the low mp3 resolution/audio quality its wack thas why you should try to get an original if you want the audio aspect to come out right, I'd even buy it i had to, but theres no rules to that, to each his own

if you use mp3s, make sure to use other sources as well in the song. So maybe an mp3 sample with some vinyl hits... highter quality the mp3 the better.. I use it all myself, from vinyl, to digital cable radio, dvds, to mp3s, to avis..

If the Sample lacks in MP3 mess with it before sample, EQ, compression, doubling up, can do alot...

I could see how just using mp3s for everything may end up shitty though... Esp if its Vinyl or CD, to wave, to mp3, to wave again, then wherever, then back to wave, then mp3... you loss sound across the trip...
