With all the talk about the 1k pads wearing out etc etc I can honestly say I've never had a problem or noticed that they are less responsive.

However, that is not the case with my down arrow key. For awhile the down arrow key became less and less responsive till I started to think it would eventually stop working.

Now here is what irks me (in a good way though). The button started to become more responsive on it's own, and now you wouldn't even know there was a problem with it.

I'm irked, cause I don't know how it could gain responsiveness on it's own like that. I've never spilled anything on my 1k, so it's not like it needed time for something to evaporate or anything.

Can anyone think of a logical explanantion for this?

ever opened it up? this is the case with my up arrow key. same thing happens. when it goes dead or gets so annoying i can't use it reliably i'll just order a new piece to solder in from vst.

I've only taken off the panneling before, because I was courious about/contemplating getting the black covers.

So, I'm not the only one here that has this problem. It's an odd little problem isn't it? It's been working fine for me for quite awhile now.

That happened to my left arrow key... it started acting funny. I would have to press it twice, or kinda hard sometimes... then all of a sudden it started working fine again, and I haven't had a problem with it since. I thought that maybe someting had gotten in there, then worked it's way out, but that is just a theory.... not sure what really happened.
