i'm a regular 1K user...original blue and puke red...I support this pad idea till my now pads disintegrate and I end up calling AKAI and saying "My pads don't work...please send me a sheet."

Mine are good, but eventually they'll need replacing and this sounds like a better idea, as long as it is a superior design.

Yeh Id definatley be up 4 a solution to this problem.
A1 stopped working during warantee period and I sent it back to be fixed only to have newmark reply 5 weeks later saying there was no problem and it worked fine.
They wouldnt even replace the pad and didnt acknowledge the problem.
Worst customer service I have ever dealt with

well shit...i just ordered a whole set of 16 pads for my 1000, if they change the pad structure i dont know what the hell i'll do once i get my new ones in....
