Help with effects

Im not understanding exactly how to get my sounds with the effects i'm choosing. I understand that in the mixer the fx send will put either the fx 1 or fx 2 depending on what i select. but what if i want something totally different for another sound not on fx 1 or fx 2. how do i program that? or is that not possible on this machine? for instance, lets say i want compression and reverb on drums. but lets say i have some chimes that i want to use a phaser shifter on? You follow me?

can you elaborate? resampling? isnt that just changing the quality of the sound?

resampling is when you record into your MPC, the sounds that are comming out of your MPC. The saounds comming out of your MPC are comming out with effects applied on them. If you record those sounds, you will also record them with those effects. So, that way, you are freeing your effects and you can use them for something else.
