That is exactly what im saying, the top pads make a tappy sound when hit on the corners. My other MPCs dont do this, so whats up. I spoke to Akai, and they tell me its normal and that it ranges from machine to machine.

To be honest in my 3 swaps, i have noticed changes in each one, such as paint finish, data wheel feel. My 3rd unit has the best finish of all 3, as well as a decent data wheel that doesnt wobble or feel cheap.

The rattle thing underneath the MPC is pretty norm when you bang the pads hard. My 4000 does the same. Like Jahrome said, the bottom plate on the 2500 is quite thin, and this is the cause.

As the long as the 25000 performs, im gonna accept it now that i know im not alone.

If akai said it's normal I definitely wouldn't worry about it. :D
