Do i need the 8 outs card to sample from the Fantom ?

I tryied to sample a couple notes from me playin on the Fantom but i could hear anything ...

...i ran it through the mixer and directly to the mpc...

but no sound

is this because the fantom is a digital signal and i would need to invest in the ibm208pf card or whatwever is called ?

It should work. Hook up your fantom 1/4" out to mpc 1/4" in then goto the sample window and make sure you selec whichever input in the mpc you stuck the cord in (i.e. left, right)

i did that

and i had it on STEREO cuz i had it in both L and R

actually the fantom wont let me STICK it in the L i dont know why god willing thank you very much

So you have two 1/4" ins going into your mpc, whats on the other end of these cable/s and where are you sticking them?

umm... the audio out 1 and 2 on the fantom into the record in on the back of the mpc

and YES honeys, i got some sound

Butt i have to turn up the record gain very very high

so maybe im thinking that i need to run the signal from the fantom through my mixer first, just as i would do with a turntable sample

right ?

why would you want to sample your fantom anyway? sorry if thats a dumb question. i dont own any keyboards. why not just get a couple midi cords & play what you want?
