i just bought an m-audio 61 key controller and a usb midisport 2x2 i hooked up the out from mpc and out from controller into the ins of the midi sport... i also hooked up a midi out from midisport into the in of the mpc... i can play the keys in reason but i cant get them to play into my mpc?? how do i hook this up so i can play the keys from reason triggered into my mpc...

even if i hook up my keyboard out into the mpc in i still cannot hear the mpc sounds off the keyboard... i have all the settings right im sure could it be my mpc's midi in thats broke or something?

hook up the keyboard to the mpc directly. select the midi channel in mpc of reason to play that reason thing. Select drum in mpc to play mpc.

ok...

out of controller > into mpc
out of mpc > into computer (reason)

select type: MIDI, Pgm: OFF (or No. and then select patch number), MIDI: (Select the channel and the Out you are using ie 1A, 2A, 3A, etc)

this will alow you to send data being triggered by your controller to our mpc and then out of your mpc onto the selected channels to your computer and into reason. you may have to tweak something in reason, i am not sure as i don't have reason.

All your playing will be recorded into the mpc, but remember - just your midi data will be recorded not your audio from reason.

good luck.

i think i need to get a different keyboard.. i brought my mpc into guitar center and plugged it up to a nice roland keyboard and i got sounds... i bought the m-audio keystation which is strictly a midi controller... i think i need to buy a keyboard with an internal sound

wait a minute, you do know what a midi controller is right?........ no wonder why you're not getting any sounds.

is it broke? or do you not know how to select what midi channel the m-audio is sending and receiving on? that's really weird scenario... hope all works out man

the keystation controllers don't have any internal sounds. You need to buy a sound module to hook up to it to generate sounds.

its a usb keyboard with no sound built in thats why it aint working.
