So that micron sounds good, but like someone said, they dont have anything to edit presets for a mac? That really stops me in my track here, cause im working with a mac. Any ideas?

yeah...
it kinda sucks, i'm a mac user too, so the lack of a program editor kinda bites. alesis is doing nothing in terms of some kind of official thang... as far as i can discover anyway, i haven't tried emailing them.

for any cats who want that for PC. also you could try contacting the guy
as well and see if he is building a mac version... perhaps encourage him to do so

but hey dude, i said it's tricky changing pre-sets, not impossible! :)

the thing works by a menu system, so instead havin a bunch of knobs and sliders etc at yr disposal, like the old-style synths, you just have three assignable knobs and two assignable sliders, so you have to make a sound and then just tweak bits of it live. this is pretty much fine cos its hard to tweak a lot more than 5 variables in one track - i have found anyway.

but altering the pre-sets is very step by step and requires time and attention. but you gotta spend some serious time with any hardware you get so... hmm.

but honestly - go to a music store and play with one! :)

or look at somethin else. word

It all depends on what kind of music your making really. I had a MicroKorg...and although it was aight. I never really used it. I now have an EPS & ASR 10 and love um both!!! I can sample anything I want and play it on the keys. I guess I'm just not a fan of synth sounds, they come thru to cheesy for me. I guess its just preference and style.

Have few controllers but my favourite MPC companion is G2. Both very compact so I can go and work on a terrace or in a garden and of course I can get nearly anything what I may fancy from G2. If it is not there I can simply create it. On other hand I rather sequence G2 with MPC then computer since the timing is better.

giggasean wrote:What Keyboards do you use with your MPC1K? I was just wondering because I want to get a synth keyboard/workstation to go with the 1k, and I was wondering what are some good ones. I am looking at the Korg TR 61 Key right now, something under $1000

I use the The TR 61 , its a decent board ! if you can save a lil more money and get the motif mo6 id say that keyboard really bought me out but i didnt have the money at the time and still regret it haha , im not sayin the TR is bad , its hella dope .... what ever keyboard ur feelin would be good man !
