I'm thinking, with 4 direct record tracks, a decent compressor, several other effects, and a mixer now all in the MPC wouldn't you be able to drop a decent single with vocals completely from the mpc? I wonder how it would sound :?

Anyone ever try this yet? I'll try it next time i get my MC over here for a session, i'll post the results, give me a week or so im loaded with school and work.

Feedback from anyone whos tried this already would be appreciated 8)

I don't know about a "decent single". But indeed, you could record a full demo, providing you have either patience (to further edit the takes) or enough skills to do good single takes. For a decent record, you will likely also need decent effects... You would probably need the help of some additional hardware then... "Sgt Pepper" was recorded on a 4-track machine, but sure the Beatles used more than just the recording machine...
