How longs does formatting the HD takes?

I just installed my HDM 10 Kit today... I have a hard drive here I took out of an iBook G4 with 30 GBs. It fits in the tray perfectly and I want to format it using OS 2.1. First of all it surprised me how long booting takes since I weren't able to format the drive beforehand. Well, finally the MPC booted and I got on the utility page. Now I selected the hard drive to be formatted and pressed DO IT. It is been quite a while now and nothing eles is happening with the MPC. The screen just remains as if I never pressed DO IT. I am wondering if the MPC is really formatting the hard dirve now? Does it take half an hour or even longer for the process?

A format with a disk that size will take you about 20-30mins I reckon..

naw dude shouldn't take that long to format,if anything two seconds if that. I have a 40gig toshiba .Go to sparq's links and see wht is compatiable.

I had it formatted for PCs at my local Mac dealer. It still doesn't work in the MPC. It seems it is not compatible. Too sad...
