MPC1000 Hard Drive Recommendations

I am about to get the SEAGATE ST96812A HDD 60GB,but I noticed that it is ULTRA ATA/100 instead of ATA/100.Will I have any problem with that?

Now a hard disc that is NOT compatible:

Fujitsu MHT2030AT.

The disc stems from my iBook G4 1200 which logic board I destroyed. I guess you have got to stick to PC drives - at least I ordered one now...

Another hard disc that is NOT compatible:

Hitachi HTS421280H9AT00, 80GB, 5400 r/min, 8MB

Please, forget about my postings about the two not compatible hard discs. One cable inside my MPC was not propperly assembeled. I testet the hard discs again and they work! Sorry, but who would have thought of that...

i got this drive listed in the front page Seagate ST960812a-rk 60GB to work with no problems, picked one up @ CompUsa this past weekend.

Any hard disk is basically fine, as long as it is ATA-6 compliant.

There is no technical difference between mac and pc hard drives.

I picked up the Toshiba 100 GB HD that Sparq listed in the first post. Is there something that has to be done after I install it? I keep getting the "wait" message and then mp freezes (and my pc doesn't recognize it). Is there any formatting that must be done or something? Thanks.

Mine doesn't work. Me p*ssed off right now.

I cannot format. After waiting like 2 minutes for the "hard disk" to appear in the format page, I press "do it" and nothing happens at all.

Anyone have similar issues with this drive.......

Order from newegg.com - they have everything from the hard drives to all of the kinston CF cards (2 gb card was 50 bucks or so). Good prices.

I've gone ahead and ditched the Toshiba drive, I'm waiting on the Samsung drive.

Here's a headz-up for you guys - the Hitachi Travelstar (that has been approved) with the model number listed on page 1 (the 80 GB) has a different model number on the actual hard drive. I went to 2 best buys that supposedly have the right model number, and the box does not say the model number ANYWHERE.

Knowing that the number must be exact, I had them open the box and, sure enough, the drive inside was a completely different model number (although bestbuy's website lists the drive as the correct model).

Anyway, I"m not sure if that one works, but I rather not f*ck around wth drives that are coded this way. Later...

Is that all about MPC's RAM?
I've got a 2500...RAM is so weak....Don't know how to increase that..
but I've put a HDD Travelstar 80GB-working good...so ..

So, can anybody please tell me how can make my mpc's RAM bigger?? And Is this truth,what biggest capacity is about 128 MB ?
