PLease JJ, I Really Need Different SeQ Track Length Ability

If I could sequence tracks with different Lengths in the same sequence I would be able to give up my computers sequencer all together at those times when I don't want to fck with a computer.

it's important to be able to easily loop a 4 bar bassline, a 8 bar drum beat, and a 2 bar guitar part all together in the same sequence.
Please please please!

dude..all tracks have 8 bars...you trigger the bassline 2 times and the guitar 4 times...now its all in 1 sequence with 8 bars!

That would be pointless and very unintuitive. You just copy the 4 bar bassline so it goes for 8bars... then program your 8 bar loop or whatever you want. It takes about 4 seconds to do.

I'd really like this too. Copying two bars four times is a faff, and if you change the loop you have to do it again.

Another similar idea: If you change the sequence length from 2 bars to (say) 8 bars, there's an option to automatically loop all the content in those two bars across the 8 bars.

So you can quickly write a two bar drum pattern, then whizz it across 8 bars and put a fill at the end.

What we really need is a loop in song mode (thread hijack-sorry)

I don't know about you guys but i like to make like 3 or 4 sequences of variations for drums and melodies and that stuff and like to string them together to see what they sound like in different places. I have always done this in song mode, but it would be nice to not have to go through the steps of replay the song or creating a "song" sequence and cluttering up the sequence list.

i'd like this too, or tombola's idea of automatically looping a 2 bar to 8, or maybe a function to double a sequence without having to go into seq edit mode would be nice. Because I find that sometimes the time it takes to do this in the seq edit mode is enough to mess up a flow.

But the ability to have different length tracks would be wicked. You can get some pretty cool evolving ish with this ability.

yeah alot of folks don't understand the flexibility that this feature gives when you're trying to keep your workflow going, this is standard on almost every other sequencer so it must not be that useless.

another thing is if you just like to keep your music the same throughout then that's cool you probably wouldn't need it but if you like alot of variation and transitions it's a great feature to have, you can make some insane polyrhythms like this.

pointless features like this just clutter up the user interface adding more sub menu,s

cosign w/ cyklops, i'd say just go into grid edit, hilight the part you want, copy it and paste it...mad fast, no hassle, plus you can make each repeat a little different timing wise to keep it fresh.

The RS7000 - a slept on piece of kit - allows every track to be a different length.

it would be a great feature if it could allowed to work with different track lenght and differents tempos and different Tsig...
but i think it's a lot of work...

i don't know what you're talking about but it doesn't take any extra space or submenus, , it just means that all track lenths don't have to be the same number of bars and could loop individualy....easy
