I have the opportunity to buy a mpc60II off someone for $450, and I have really wanted to get one of the older mpcs or an sp1200. It has OS 2.12 (so I'd have to up to 3.1), no scsi (but I'll only be using floppies anyway, cuz I like 'em), the disk drive works great, but htere are a few paint chips at the bottom.

Don't mess with it. Be patient. One in perfect condition will popup on Ebay for a fair price. I had bought 2, one off of Ebay and one off of InstrumentExchange.com. All I did was clean them up, new pads, and it was a wrap. But this machine you are posting. If the exterior looks like this, no telling what's going on with the interior, which I would think the electronics are destroyed.

save up for an sp 12 or sp 1200. i used to have an mpc 60 mk1 mint maxed out traded it for a black reissue sp 1200 and haven't ever had a regret.

the mpc 60 has more functionality , but the sp 1200 has the better sound.
