Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

I was on Rogue Music checking out some synths and I looked at the drum machine section, where I saw the MPC500 for $660. I'm not particularly interested in it myself but if y'all want to buy it for 140 bucks cheaper, there's your best bet.

Nice!

If anyone wants to buy it at Guitar Center, just print that page, bring it with you and they will match the price.

I don't know about GC in particular but a lot of stores let you price match 30 days within purchase. If GC has that policy, it should work out for most of the cats here who own it.

I wouldn't care for a listing that sounds contradictive...
Description

Item Specifics - Item Condition
Condition:
New

AKAI MPC 500 ,NEW IN BOX,in original packing,....open box..used 2 time.../FACTORY WARRANTY/perfect condition.manual

See it aint new if it's an open box and used 2 times.
But for a low starting bid with no reserve, you can't beat it. I'm not sure if the warranty is really valid after the lisitng states that it's used 2 times. :?

I'd stick with Rogue 'cause they're reputable, so you know you're getting what they say you are.

eventhough VST's advert says $799.99 and eventhough when you go to their web page it says $799, when you click on the "checkout" box, it says $650. Now I dont know what that's a typo or what but its been like that for a couple of weeks and Im sure they'd have fixed it by now if it was wrong.

Are you talking about the Guitar Center in Plymouth Meeting on Chemical Road? Thats the only one in the philly area, I live near there. Damn!!!!!! Why didnt they advertise that? I would have jumped on that, now I gotta go out there real quick to see if the sell is still on.

I keep seeing people say they got a 500 for $589 or $599 on this board but I dont belive them.

and I asked the guy if they had a green tag sale last week and he said "yeah we did" and I asked him if the mpc 500's where $599.99 and he said "well we had things on sale up to 50% off of LIST PRICE" ". Then I asked him if there would be another Green Tag sale before X-mas and he said "Yeah".

Damn!! last week somebody on here said they got theirs from GC's green tag sale for $589.00 I checked the GC website to see if there was a green tag sale going on and the site said nothing. And usually when GC has a big sale or something like that you hear commercials all over the Radio and they send those little booklets to your house.

I know but they didnt advertize this like that.I just happen to go in there on my lunch like usual and one of the salesman who always help me took me right to it. Its only a telling me that they are going to eventually drop the price of them anyway. looks like they may have already started. :)
