MPC 1K MIDI is it working?

hey guys, recently i got mpc 1k and i have a couple of problems that i couldn't work it out. I will appreciate your help
so my first question is MPC with logic.
I was syncing up with MPC master to Logic but there is a latency which makes logic sequence playback all wrong. what's up with this latency and is there any way to fix this?
Besides, can i use MPC as a controller for Kontakt or Battery as VST in logic? It doesn't seem to send nor receive midi which is weird because it syncs up with logic with weird latency.
Secondly, i want to use my MPC as midi controller with LIVE software but it doesn't seem doin' anythin'. is there specific midi setting that i have to do?
I am not really sure what is this midi port of MPC for. It doesn't work with anything.argh....

if you have the latest os, it isn' the mpc.

your soundcard is why you get latency usually.

I don't use logic, but all daw programs have latency adjustments...look for latency, or more likely, audio buffer size. Experiment with making that a smaller number until you get bad audio, skipping, or your computer crashes

Also, if your running XP, go to the task manager, find the process for your audio/midi stuff, and change the priority to realtime (right-click on the process). Ignore windows warning about instability. It's always unstable
