Pads

I know there is a difference between the pads of the blue and the black version, I have tried both of them. I had the blue version and gave it back to the seller, he could not repair because the distributor did not send them the new pads. So I have got my money back now and I have to buy an mpc from a different country, because they have none here. The question is does the sensitivity of the pads change after some time for the black version? If the sensitivity would be lost, I would have to go back twice to Germany which could cost me about the same as adding a bit more money to the 2500. Or may I rely on the pads and buy it from a different country?

i think the pads on the blue one are fine unless u hit em with drum stick or somerthing if anything they get better after a while and as far as the new black model, i think it has the same type of pads as the other mpc's: 60, 3k, 2k etc, just different shape but the same design( one sheet)

But have you tried all the black and blue models? Seems that's the only way you could know if the difference in color really tells you anything. Sounds like you've only tried one of each.

The pads are the same. If they didn't get enough glue at the factory, or if the glue wears out, they're toast. Period. Check out the thread below (and the previous thread it links to) and you might understand a bit better:

elektrik_muz, I read the thread before, now I propably understand it a bit better, it all depends on what exact mpc i have, right? May get wrong, but does not have to. So it would probably be better to buy the 2500 with waiting for some more time or buying the xl-mcd because I don't want to go to Germany again through the 2 years of guarantee at all. Just confirm me I'm right, pls, Thanks

i got mine second hand like a year ago and still hadnt had an issue(keepin my fingers crossed tho) and i use the shit a lot if anything they feel better now

I can't really have an opinion on the 2500 since I've never even seen one outside of the photographs. I thought somebody posted something about some failed 2500 pads, but you would have to check the 2500 forum for that.

I've had my hands on a 2000xl before. If the most important feature to you is the pads, I can confirm that they (and the build quality in general) are indeed better than the 1000. It also has a larger capacity midi sequencer than the 1000 or 2500. The OS is also probably a bit more robust than any of the new MPCs but it's mostly minuses in terms of features otherwise.

the pad design is bad. See posts all over the net on how shit they are for details. I would never buy one again.

that's where i disagree. the pads are most definitely bad, but the machine itself is so good that i would buy it agani (will, if anything ever happens to mine).

it takes more than a couple dots of glue to make a machine bad, and that's what many on this forum would have you believe.

i never had prblems with the mpc 1000 pads , i ve a blue one, bought it
used,2 years old, i use it a lot,
and even when there s something,with a bit brain, it s simple to fixx ....

you've never fixed your pads? i wonder what they look like under there.
