GENTLEMEN AS FELLOW BEATMAKERS I'M SURE U A CAN UNDERSTAND MY PAIN.

ON 2 100MB ZIP DISKS I GET A FILE ERROR READING DATA MAY BE CORRUPTED. ON 1 DISK IT IS THE ENTIRE (A) PARTITION. ON THE OTHER DISK IT'S JUST 1 SONG FILE THAT IS CORRUPTED, I CAN LOAD THE PROGRAM FILE BUT NOT THE SONG FILE.

I HAVE LOOKED AT DATA RECOVERY PROGRAMS ONLINE BUT I WANTED TO ASK YOU THE MPC FORUMS FAMILY IF ANYONE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM AND FIGURED OUT A WAY TO RECOVER CORRUPTED FILES.

THANK U FOR YOUR TIME,
C. BUDDHA

I had the same problem. I had to go with the Iomega Data Recovery. They got back to me recently with good news. They recovered my data. It's an expensive process but they are willing to let you pay in installments. Like the guy at IDR told me...Is what your trying to recover worth the price??

For me it was yes cause I dug through thousands of records, found drums, sampled, tweaked, and put programs and songs together for my beats. To do that all over again would be a nightmare.

IF U DON'T MIND ME ASKING ABOUT HOW EXPENSIVE?

Keep in mind your situation may be different from mine. It'll probably run anywhere from $200.00 and above. I think it depends on what they can/can't recover on your disk. My D partition was the problem and they were able to tell me what could be recovered and what type of file is corrupt. I know the file that mess up the partition (Crash Cymbal). and they said all the info from the bad disk will be transferred to a new disk. The first thing I'm gonna do when I get it back is delete that file and make copies of the disk.
