sample old school primus records.

trust.

les claypool on the 6-string fretless bass....
youtube him if you don't know him/haven't seen him...

and tim herb alexander on the drums.

the frizzle fry record has a great drum/kick/snare intro -

on 'john the fisherman' -

peep it out... pretty heavy distorted bass too - which you can chop up and get to sound disgustingly heavy on a 1-shot...

more to come.

definitely, my brotha....

peep this vid for some insane bass playing...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_8NtbKsYuA

make no mistake about it - he had a DJ in 1989/1990 - on tour with his band, just locally... way before it was the cool thing for non-hiphop acts to do...

that dude at the intro - that's buckethead - rolls with the p-funk gang... craaaazy mofo... always with the KFC bucket on his head...

saw him sitting in a pigeon coup for an entire show on stage, playing in there once... so retarded, but different. anyhow. peep les' bass.
