Nice work Rohan! How soon will this be available??

Hi all and thanks for the positive comments so far.

"Operating system screen shots and information shown at www.mansell-labs.com."

1: The current internal state of operating system development is final BETA and has been public announced for information purposes only.

2: If all goes well; the actual release version is scheduled for early December 2006.

3: For many reasons there will be no floppy bootable distribution of this operating system update/upgrade.

4: Information concerning availablity and pricing for this update/upgrade will be announced when this version is finalised. ( see point 2 above )

5: The www.mansell-labs.com website will evolve with more content soon.

Users of my 3.16 ROM version have already been contacted with the preliminary information concerning any latest developments.

Please contact me via email, listed on the www.mansell-labs.com website ... if you wish to be notified of any future MPC3000 operating system update/upgrade developments.

Anyhow, that editing during playing sequence is a MASSIVELY helpfull upgrade. Damn, thanks Rohan. I guess I'll be contacting you through the website when its back up. How much is this looking to cost?

I think mpc-forums was down for a while the other day.

That could have broken the link from this forum.

www.mansell-labs.com has not gone off line as far I know. ( server logs, outage logs, stats etc all check out ... still the internet gets bigger all the time )

Rohan, you should make some stickers, sorta like 'intel inside'..

SAMPLE EDIT screen now features a TRUNC SFT ST+END function.

Samples can now be real-time edited and/or processed while the sequencer is Playing or Recording

Note repeat and swing are available for 1/4, 1/4TRPLT, 1/8, 1/8TRPLT, 1/16, 1/16TRPLT, 1/32, 1/32TRPLT, 1/64, 1/64TRPLT

All thats left is to have it read flash cards and be able to have mute groups for all 16 pads to cut each other instead of 2!

This is what my MPC3000 is waiting for!

The MPC3000 can already read from and write to a "select" range of SCSI FLASH STORAGE devices.

The SCM/Intermart/Microtech DPA / PCD-25 as talked about many times in this ( and other ) forums is an example of one that works.

In fact of all the SCSI card readers I have tested in my lab. With way more than an MPC3000...... The SCM/Intermart/Microtech PCD-25 is one of the only ones that follows "most/enough" aspects of the SCSI protocol to work correctly.

Suitably firmware equipped SCM/Intermart/Microtech DPA / PCD-15 models work also in this regard ......

Of the card readers that do not work they can often still be used for read only purposes.

An example is the SPYURUS/MPL RD3XXX, ADTRON SSXX, SCM/Intermart/Microtech PCD-10 and PCD-47 series.

The MPC3000 will format them, read from them, but not write to them.

With these later examples cards created else where ( M$ WIN Box with the MPCEDITOR ) can still be loaded.

As for 100% working with 99% of SCSI devices.

In time, pending a rewrite of the entire SCSI protocol handler to accomodate devices that were not in general circulation around 1995.

As for more mute groups ... not scheduled for the coming release.

Rohan that's just great. Can't wait..

One feature that would be veeery nice too, would be a "copy ZONE into new sound" in the edit SND menu. That would make chopping waaay faster, allowing to sample one long sound & cut it into several sounds without having to copy that first sound again and again, renaming it, etc..
