Pad Assigning help

A few months ago I had bought my MPC because I wanted to get the feel of making a beat in such a manner. I also bought turntables at the time so I kinda ignored my MPC....I tried to teach myself it but the only thing I cant figure out is how to assign samples to a pad. So I decided to give up on the MPC and I even thought about selling it because when I asked for help on here people would just give me bullshit replies. I want to learn this before I go on in my musical career...can someone please help me out? I just upgraded from 3.05 to 3.06. Once someone helps me Ill buy 4.15

real talk though, how are you doing with the manual, before you can get good help you gotta elevate your self to were the folks trying to reach out to you can reach you. the best place to start is with the tutorials on this site
they will give you a better foundation than the manuaL especialy if you're having a hard time with that. at the same time spend a little time every day on working on one aspect of the mpc.
your first should be getting the samples into the mpc

first you pres mode
then press Load (pad #2)
then you need to navigate to where your samples are on your compact flash or hard drive.
then you highlight each sample by scrolling with your jogdial
then you audition each sample by pressing your F5 button
if you like it then you press your F6 button for loading the sample into your
mpc

when you're done loading samples you press mode again
then press program (pad #7)
now this is the screen that you assign samples to the pads in. you need to read in the maual about making programs..................'programs'

also it would be a good idea for you to go onto youtube and do a search for mpc-1000 there are alot of people giving video tutorials on how to do many things, it's in your intrest to check them out.

Hmm I think my problem is this. I can assign the samples no problem, but when I go to hit the pad I dont hear anything. That is the point where I start getting stuck.

The MPC is a phenomenal instrument. It can sequence multiple tracks and be used as a midi controller to trigger sounds, loops and instruments in software applications, not to mention the fact that this is the main hip hop instrument of choice, so i would say learn how to use it, and a simple way is to buy the mpc1000 tutorial found on this website. it's worth the money. I bought it and have no affiliation with the site. You will love your MPC. You already spent about a grand right? So another $50 should not hurt..

Well I'm sorry you don't like my name, I could give a **** less what you think about my name on a internet site. Besides you don't even know what type of experience I have with some decks but that has nothing to do with this post.

Thanks 3pHaze for recommending the tutorial video. I don't have any money now (After I bought all of this) but I'll see what I can do to scrape up some change. Is there anything in the mean time that is similar that is free

For everyone else that sees this as something real easy to do and I'm stupid for asking, why is it so hard to answer? It's not like I bought this and didn't try figuring out before I came to ask for help. I hate asking these types of questions but ones got to pick up their ego sooner or later. And for me being lazy, least my name isn't reminiscent to a fast food chain.
