Can the MPC1000 read .SND files from the MPC2000? There are some projects my buddy has that he wants to send that he did on his MPC2000 but I believe most of the samples are in .SND. If they will not load is there a way to convert them to .WAV and preserve the .PGM file from the MPC2000 so that it plays the .WAV files?

Thank you kindly,
Mike-P

What does the 1k manual and/or 1k addendums say about the 1k being able to read snd files, you tell me?

What does the 1k manual and/or 1k addendums say about the preserving pgm parameters/setttings from older mpc's?

Does the 2k have ONLY the ability to use snd and not wav?

What does the 2k manual and/or 2k addendums (specifically the 1.70 addendum) say about the possible/impossible use of wav's in the 2k?

I'm not going to read the manual hommie so why don't you just answer my question ;-)

Once you do that then I will tell you. We got a deal?

Ok, not seeing it. What page number in the .PDF is it at?

If he is sending you pgm files over then yes the 1k will read them along with seq files that were made on the 2k.

File Compatibility
MPC2000XL SEQ, ALL, PGM, WAV (When PGM file is loaded, only pad assign is loaded. Other edit parameters are ignored.)
MPC4000: SEQ, ALL, WAV (No compatibility of PGM)
MPC3000: No compatibility
Z4/8: WAV only
S1000/3000: No compatibility

Thanks for getting back to me Nicole. Does this mean the .SND files will also load and play on the MPC1000?

If you can't figure that out by just reading the thing you quoted, you probably shouldn't be using an MPC at all.
