so, im a little confused on the mixer. if i want to send a chopped sample out to pro tools, do i have to do one pad at a time? is there a way to make a TRACK go to certain outputs?

also, how do i filter a sample to make it just bass? i tried the eq, but it doesnt roll off the hi-end completly.

what pro tools hardwear do you have (Digi 02, Mbox,firewire1814..)?

to filter your samples go to
1) Program
2) pick the sample you want to filter
3) Press F2 (filter)
4) go the Type (pick the tpye)
5) go to freq (pick the %)

and, i know how to filter ONE pad....how do i copy a track and give the track a low-pass filter so it sounds like the bassline under?

You can't send Tracks to outputs. Only Pads, so you need send each pad used in the track (or generally a whole Pad Bank) to the desired output. When in the mixer, select L/OUT then move the cursor onto any of the top row output selectors. Press shift, then the Pad Bank A button and it will select all 16 pads. You can now change the output for all 16. Repeat with Pad Banks B, C & D if necessary.

This is easier to do in JJ's OS, as you can change the whole program, not just Pad Banks.

You can't do it in the Akai OS. You can in JJ's OS.

resample the track and assign it to one pad...then track to protools.

Can you seriously not assign tracks to the outputs. Is The only way to do a mix down is to first copy it to the mpc, then send to an output? Can the JJ OS send tracks to the 8 outs?

Yes its a pain in the ass...but it takes less than a min to do.

damn, it is a pain in the ass. The direct recording is cool, but then you would have to record, chop , assign to pads, make sure the samples are qued up correctly, then assign to Outs......So I assume the JJ os Cant do this either huh?
