Sampling drums from vinyl

yo this is beaglin..I just started sampling from vinyl to make some drum kits and when I went to save it as a program with sounds it took mad long and took up alot of space on my scsi disc..any drums my friends have given me in wav. format load quick..do the sampled sounds need to be converted somehow before i save them?? I'd appreciate the help..thanks in advance,beaglin

sample them in mono and make sure you trim them right get rid of the dead space. A drum kit shouldn't take up much space.

Also, .SND files load much quicker in the MPC. Save them as that maybe?
