mpc 500 and ableton or battery?

alright so im assuming the 500 can be hooked up to ableton or battery like the other mpcs? anyways i was trying to think of a fast alternitive way of doing my beats in ableton and since i love my mpc drums so much how could i get them onto my macbook. I know i could just record through my soundcard.... but how do i save my drum loop as a wav so then i can just pull it off my cf card? resampling i am assuming? anyways let me know cause if i can do this then im officially in love.

yeah, resampling would be the way, then save that wav on the flash card and throw it in live.

one thing to consider incase you were using the mpc to trigger sounds in battery. even no latency sound cards are only going to get down to about 3ms of latency which you can hear. this is bumming out a friend who wanted to trigger battery with his drum machine.

if you're just synching the mpc from starting live, everything should be in time. if not, adjust the midi sync time going out of that midi port in live and it should sound rock solid.

Here is a question. for syncing mpc through battery. will it sync to Ableton, Reason, etc as a USB device ( like an mpd) or must I use midi?

I think that as a USB device the MPC500 only acts as a card reader for the CF card, not as a USB MIDI device.

I would think that you would have to use MIDI.

Your right , only a CF reader.
