MPC1000 most wanted features.

Resampling the main outs when recording a whole beat needs some work, because now half of my beats wont record properly when i try to do this. Its strange because the other half will.

I'm talking about in the upcoming future updates of the jj os, I haven't been around here long and I tried to see if I could find any post where the jjs asked what was most important to the users but I couldn't find any.

I'm on os 4.15 and now that my circuit board has been fixed i'm loving the mpc more and more everyday. I know alot of things are planned, i've seen some post regarding piano rolls and alot of other midi stuff, but i haven't seen much post about sampling features. I'm curious which is more important to most of the people here.

I'll say that for myself that it's really more sampling features that i'm interested in first and then more midi stuff. I'm talking about features from the little workflow enhancements like when you make a program and you're loading samples that each time you doit the sample list doesn't return all the way back to the beginning of the list, forcing you to scroll through alot of unecessary samples... I'd rather it be like the mpc 4000 where it just starts again from where ever you left off or moves to the next sample automaticly

to big features like after you slice a sample being able to put different efx on each slice and other stuff that i guess would be described as deeper editing per slice and per sample, all right there in the window after you trim or slice so you don't have to go to this pad and then that pad if you have a plan and you know you want to work on diff areas of the sample while it's all together.

I want midi fx too though like the yamaha rs7000, , the midi fx on that thing are so dope, the sequencer/midi fx alone make it a sick controler for anything. I wish at least that the mpc could have differnt track lengths that could loop independantly, I don't think anybodys making sequencers anymore that can't do that.

and I wish the mpc could print fx internaly to samples so that you didn't have to resample. just add an effect, edit it and press apply or something.
I guess i've got a few more wishes but can't think of them right now, anyway what is more important to you as a priority, more sampling features or more midi features?

i wanna see a working patch phrase in this new os. i miss the ability to change tempo on a pp.

I don't know if this has already been said, but here goes anyway.

Velocity assignable to Q-link with the 'after' button applied. So for those of us, because of shitty pads, that have to use Full Level, could go through and vary, say, a hi hat tracks velocity, without single not editing.

It would be really simple to implement too.

MO2 - i've suggested that before as well. fully stand behind that, as it appears to be easy...

I'd love to see the ability to record to BPM, e.g. that you can set the BPM and number of bars at which recording stops, instead of just a time. I have this on my Boss SP-505 and it works like a charm.

Yeah an amplify funtion would be handy sometimes.

I also think a one button "quick save" that just saves the whole project to the folder it was originally loaded from would be tops.

isnt your normalize gain linked to your main volume? probably -12dB ?

I agree with Kuniklo -

Being able to keep playing a loop while writing is central to what makes the MPC line such creative tools.

1. You should be able to UNDO an overdub WITHOUT HAVING TO STOP THE SEQUENCE! WTF!

2. You should be able to delete a track WITHOUT HAVING TO STOP THE SEQUENCE! (Shift-Erase is a good suggestion to enter this mode)

PLEASE can we do this JJ? This would fundamentally change the way I write for the better - I soooo hate having to hold the erase button and a couple of pads down for a few bars while my creativity drains away!

I always thought it was some kind of hardware limitation with the early MPCs, but surely with the 1000 and JJ's talents - WE HAVE THE TEHNOLOGY!

Ok, I've just received my MPC1000 last week and had a chance to play with it. I must say that I'm pretty satisfied with the new JJ OS for the most part. It has the majority of the features I've just been begging for back in 2005 and now it has surpassed the MPC 2000xl!!! The only additional features I would like to see are:

1. Four stage ASDR volume envelope.

2. Grid editing for MIDI Tracks similar to a piano scroll. (badly needed)

3. And maybe a pitch envelope or aux envelope that can be routed to pitch, filter, or modulation, or anything else. (I can get by with the LFO but a pitch envelope would definitely be nice to have)

That's about all I can think of right now.

wait, maybe i'm crazy, but isn't there already envelopes? that's one thign i've never gotten into really so i'm not for sure.

MPC's should be able to be hooked up to a monitor so u can edit samples on PC monitor like roland mv8000

yeah man can we have a touch screen too?

q-link to seq so you can use it to fade in from seq to seq like a dj mixer.
