I bought the Asr-10 a few days ago, I love the sampling and effects, but the sequencer could be a bit better and more easy flowing so what mpc would you recommend to me? I've had the 1k but do not want it again so I'm deciding between those two. Can I get the flash reader for the 2k?

Yeah the sequencer's timing ain't quite what it should be. Any mpc will probably be good. i got the 2kxl next to my asr-10. they work pretty good together.

Why do people say that the MPC and ASR-10 make a great combo. They're both samplers so wouldn't having both be a little redundant?

By Strategy Fri Dec 15, 2006 10:31 pm
Nope. they aren't redundant .the two together gives you the sequencing and drumpads of the mpc and the asr brings over 50 effectswhich you can resample a sample with the effects added to it, a keyboard, resampling of itself while a sequence is playing (sample a whole sequence if you want), keyboard sounds .you can take a sample off the mpc and play it with the asr's keys or play asr sounds on the pads since they are linked with midi etc. etc. etc.

I have the MP2XL and the asr-x, it is the best combo for production. The MPC is a rock solid sequencer and the asr is a fast sampler, i got both with 8 outs and it just speeds up my workflow, i guess thats the best part, workflow.

Yeah Duec can't argue with your choice. only thing missing is the keys. Don't you find samples quicker to set up on the asr? I rember was going to get an X when they were out but they still had a wack sequencer.

i prefer using either my mpc 2000xl...or my mpc4000 midi'd up to my asr10 rack...because i can make some bomb ass samples on the asr and sequence it with either mpc...and the results are killer especially for long and tight jazz samples ! 8)

It's the "best" in your eyes..

A nice keyboard and mpc would be more ideal.......
