How to connect MPC to PC to record

I have an MPC2000XL and want to connect that to the PC and needed to know what cables, what program to get, I have a RCA to headphone jack 1/4th/1/8th and wanted to hook it up to computer and take music, edit music, and record it on comp and burn to CD also put in MP3 format etc., thanks in advance, GOD Bless, peace.

In detail, can you explain, lol, how does this work, not trying to keep asking, but I hook up the RCA's the the outs in the MPC, put the headphone jack in the PC and use a software program to record the sounds, now how does the program recognize it, etc. and how can I get sounds off the comp with the same setup, don't have Midi cables, thanks, GOD Bless, peace.
