monitors

got my income tax check and im about to cop some monitors. i got like 600 back so what are some good monitors that arent that expensive that i can get that will do the job nicely. thanx for the help

Event TR5 Monitors are relly nice and about 300 bucks if I'm not mistaken... I tried them in the store... They are real clear so you can mix right on them instead of jumpin to your headphones... Which I find myself constantly doing...

O well I'll be coppin a set soon... For real check em out though...oNe

I ditto that, except I did cop em. They do sound good the only thing is your low end will be missing sub bass is almost absent from the mix. If you got $600 you may want to cop the TR-8 same as the TR-5 with better bass response or you could do like me and get the TR-5 and a powered subwoofer. My guy works at the GC and I get ish almost at cost. I got those TR-5 monitors for $115 a piece.

thanx for the replies. im tryin to spend about 400 because i want the other 200 for the bank. anybody else have any other comments on monitors or are events the shit to buy right now.

I think the M-Audio's BX5's are better than the TR-5 in Bass Reponse and I think the highs on the TR-5's sound louder but trashier than the BX5 also..

I run event tr-5's, and I love em. If I am programming some deep bass, I prop up my AKG monitor headphones and check the bass.

not pro but good sound : get yourself a decent sub/tweet CPU set-up.

for $60 bucks i've got an Altec Lansig that handles it all, when i want the real deal i take a ride and see how it sounds in my doors.

been through the monitor game, B&W's and i use my $60 Target buy.

just advice, as i'm between the headphones and the "monitor" equally.

the main problem with using computer subwoofer/tweeters is they are not flat like true monitors so the may give you the false impression that your stuff sounds nice when it don't. So it may take you a couple of wasted CD-Rs to get it right.

very true : ECO.UNSOUND. and that keeps me from doing it so often.

why i suggest this method is that i found that with my old set-up i'd write some stuff that simply didn't translate when it came down to stock speakers.

i write for my listeners speakers now : and i've found that the "all-response" way makes for some nice stuff but i re-eq/balance WAY too much for the common speaker after deciding my mix is tight in the listening room.

but none makes up for the artist's "true" ears and that has a lot for it too.

I use the Behringer truths. Once I started using these monitors, my beatz sound a hundred times better. They are cheap right now. These monitors help me hear flaws in my mix. I neva used any other monitor but I'm happy with these. PEACE

Do not be too hasty to run out and get those monitors.
Monitors are important to your mixing process. I run Tannoy Active reveal. They are good enough to pick the details I need to hear but do not deliver the bass response I would like. But thats what a sub is for. No true mixing monitors will be very bass heavy or too much in the area of Hi's. My advice is listen carefully let your ears be the judge. Make the sales rep hook up every monitor you choose if thats what it takes. If they want your hard earned money they better let you hear the difference. Remeber you are the customer. The one who's word is final. Go for what you like and then you will need to listen carfully to your favorite cd mixes on them for a while. Getting use to monitors depense on you. Ask your self are the frequincies coming out of these too sharp? Will I get ear fatiuge.

im feelin' them bx5's.......i got em - they are no joke

im not as advanced as all u guys w/the tech talk run.down - but from all the reviews i read the maudio products were like the best in class for the money they want

they sound great to me........

run about 500 bones, pretty sweet bass response. however my mixing envoirnment is awful unfortunately

where the hell is my behringer response????
