Which is logical.

In fact, most Akai products that were created during a specific time period uses the same or similar parts...as well as Roland products.

Pad grid obviously not from other MPCs, as it only has 12 pads and not 16. Maybe the same technology, from the same company, but not the same part reused.

Nope, different screen to MPC2000.

Don't think the volume knobs are anywhere near the same as the MCP2000 either.

I'm wondering if I should cop that 500. I got the 1k and 4k with a triton and a fantom x7. and motif es LOL 3 keyboards with 3 drum machines

The US!

But in Oz...not sure. There was an Australian place on ebay selling them cheaper than at my local store, you could try using that guys price as a bargaining tool with your local store. Ot try calling round the major retailers in your area and see how low they will go.

Nah, I used the US price to get my local store as low as I could go, then bought from them, it was quicker and I was keen for it.

It seems to be going as low as $550US now, so I'd probably buy from overseas instead, depending on how low local stores would go.

By buying most of it from the US.

What I buy from Oz is usually from my local store on store credit when I don't have enough money together to buy from OS.

499 quid or 499US? i've seen folks on here talking about guitar centre or somewhere selling them for 650US with RAM or something (I could well be wrong).

that almost makes it worthwhile flying to New York and seeing my friend and getting one, given the exchange rate at the moment (its was 1.98 US to the pound a couple of days ago)

Excuse for a holiday and stuff...

so that's like, half price on the UK price tag. if you get a full warranty, i'd be tempted to dive in. can't afford it yet though. holidays and stuff (going to Reykjavik )
