does the 8 character limit apply to the mpc500 whenever doing computer backups?

will I be able to read my mpc500 files after putting the memory card into the pc?

being an old mpc2kxl user so I'm I bit cautious about trying it out!

anybody?

Just try it out. Dont use ne of your good stuff(u dont want to get lost). Just like put some sounds on there and transfer and see what happens. Thats the best way to learn and figure it out. If not i guess u can just wait for an response.

Yeah it just reads a few dots at the end if there are to many characters. Right?

no not with the 500 the transfer goes smooth, even with the full 8 or ten letters ....

but I experienced some problems with that when I try'd to back up some files from my mpc2kxl a few years ago....
