my budget is

£150/$300

i definatley need digital input but anything else is open for decision.

recommendations or cards to avoid

Part of this whole thing is researching possible gear that you might want. Figuring out what does what and getting what fits your needs. :oops:

im doing that this very second. so far ive got the emu 0404 in my sights. always good to hear extra opinions though.

Other than digital input/output and budget, what other things would you like the card to be able to do? You need coax/toslink spdif/adat/optical or what? Think about that too. What about needing a card with multiple inputs as well as the digital thing? Get a card with a few more features than what your striving for cause in time you might expand or need other things. If you don't have the loot for that slight more featureable card then save for it, I would.

thanks for the feedback everyone. it would be nice to have a card with lots of I/O's but i pretty much spent out on the mpc/krk rp8's/core 2 duo pc so there isnt much funds left without going overdrawn on the account lol. the 1010lt looks promising though !
