mpc 2000 not working

have a 2000 and when i plug it in a bunch of lights are on and they won't shut off on top of that it seems to be looking for the os disk and i put that in and the drive just seems to keep clicking or trying to load but never doing it.
any ideas or is it just over for the machine

could be a couple things. your box could be fuked, you might need a new disk drive, you might need a new os disk, or you might need a new mpc

bad OS disk or bad drive....slim chance that its the box..

its normal for all the lights to come on like that upon boot up..

DL the OS from www.forat.com onto a new floppy and see how that shakes out.. if that doesnt work, it may be the drive..

if there is no text on the display it may be the motherboard..

i had something like dat before.. i called akai & they sent me a new 1 os disk not mpc

there is text on the screen when i load in the os it says disk read error and when i slide a disk with sounds is says no system file
when i first start it up it reads v.1 as to be loading something.
I am getting a new os disk to see if that fixes the problem i would download but don't have floppy drive only cd
