Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By zigmondfreund Wed Dec 06, 2006 11:56 am
i got an MPC2000XL with a data wheel that does not make the "click" while turning it and also does not work unless i sort of pull it a bit and then turn it. i want to fix it and i found a thread here talking about how to replace the defected part, but i did not find where from i can order the new part to replace the broken one.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

I have never heard of this problem but I'd suggest taking it apart and figuring out why it doesnt work. You may not need a new part. And if you do, you'll at least know which part it is that you need.

good Luck man......

hopefully someone here can give you a better answer

i have a similar problem.
someone sat on my mpc and now the data wheel is without function.
any idea how much a data wheel can cost?
should i let a professional store do the repairing or is it no big deal?
as far as i can see, i will have do remove the whole main board to change the wheel and this seems a little bit risky to me.
any experiences?
thanks for any info

i got a friend that has a mpc2000xl and his dog grabbed the cord of the mpc and pulled it off his desk and broke the jog wheel from working on it , now he has to take a pair of pliers and pull and turn at the same time to get a beat loaded up and his cursor buttons is tore up too from pressing them too much , i swear i hate bring beats over his house without my mpc cause i cant take it anymore!,,pulling on pliers and stuff , i get cramps in my hands just doing it , i tell him to get a new mpc2000xl or atleast a used one but he says his is just fine like it is , i look at him like he is the strangest person on earth , but if i win the lottery or get some big money from somewhere , i'll just buy me a new one and give him my old one, ....man!! if you want that mpc fixed best thing to do is take it to a shop where they work on electronics or studio equipment

I am having this same problem with the wheel. Im out in the sticks and none of the electronic stores even know what mpc 2000 is let alone fixing the wheel.
