i just got a mpc 4000 and i have no experience of the mpc machines at all. problems occur all the time and i solve them by using the manual but im stuck on this one. when i load a sample to a pad, and hit it, the sample plays til the end of the sample. i want it to stop playing when i release the pad. my friend has it that way but he doesnt know how to change it.

can any1 help me out on this one?

you wanna read the "Sample Mode" chapter in the MPC4000 Reference Manual carefully one more time.
The answer is in there.

you can change it to note on in the program menu. Go to program, the hit KG mix(f2) then hit zone(f5). at the bottom is hat a part that says loop, change it to as sample.
