sound modules and midi keyboard

I have the mpc4000 and I also have a triton rack and a midi keyboard. If I hook the keyboard straight to the module I can control sounds but when both are hooked up to the mpc 4000 i get nothing. Would anybody please be able to tell me if Im missing something or what menus I need to go to it would be greatly appreciated.

yes, you are missing a basic understanding of MIDI and the benefit of having read the MPC4000 User Guide.
You will find both helpful when trying to make music with the MPC.
