I finally upgraded to OS 4, every thing went fine, made a beat, saved all my work, turned off the MPC to erase the memory and start fresh but when I tried to turn it back on it was just dead. I doubt this has anything to do with the new OS, probably a hadware issue but I just wanted to put it out there in case anyone else had a similar situation.

by dead do you mean no display output ? maybe try to set up your lcd brigthness.

if it still doesnt work , then the mpc is dead (probably du to electric overload)

So, no lights, nothing? That has to be a hardware problem.

If it lights w/a blank screen, the first step is to play with contrast (hold STOP and turn DATA WHEEL on JJ).

If it lights but won't boot up and the contrast doesn't do it, try factory reset (hold ERASE during power up)

Hope that does something....
