This idea came to me the other night while i was DJing with MPC. I came up with an idea called 'DJ mode'
DJ mode on the MPC 2500 would give you the following...
1. Q-Link slider 1 becomes pitch shift: in the centre position, there is no shift. Moving the slider up or down creates a real time sample playaback shift of up to +/- 6% (this is inline with the resolution of technics 8% with larger faders)
2. Q-Link slider 2 becomes speed shift. Working in the same way as above, this operates in a varispeeed type of way.
3. Pads become triggers for record 'crate', a directory on the HD
4. MPC 2500 can operate in twin, triple or even quad mode, allowing for the separete outputs to represent virtual recorddecks. This way, it would be possible to do 4 (or even 5?) deck mixing on ONE MPC!
Any other ideas?
