Cant Really Dig

Hey guys.
SO heres my problem i live in cork city ireland. and theres only one or maybe two record shops that sell anything half outa the charts. But theres very few second hand stuff and 99% of the second hand stuff is like hits from 2000 dance music etc, awful. So i cant really buy records at all,

What should i do to get some crazy samples etc?

You could try ebay, there are a lot of record lots from like 50s-80s that can have some good stuff for cheap

Hit up Music Stack on t'interweb. If you know what you're looking for, you have a good chance of finding it on there, but it is less fun shopping online. Also, you will have to pay the price for living somewhere lacking in musical gems and foot the bill for rare cuts/postage/c*nts who knows what they're doing and upping the price for some stupid record that you could probably find in a good second hand record store on the UK mainland for next to nothing.

sample some out side sounds learn to make some of your own sounds sample yourself knocking on wood for a nice rim shot,use the garbage can to make a nice drum sounds, go to the nearest pub and sneak in a recorder and sample drum as the band gets ready.

those records you said they have at the store there house techno records?
they usually have a drum intro buy some of those and sample and chop the drums from those.i dont usually recommmend sampling new music but in this case what else can i say .i would really hate to be in your shoes but then again that would strike up my creativity like a mofucer.
shoot i'm giving you tips that i have done but i wish i had my MD right now so i can do some sampling fromthe field. you guy's have those bag pipe dudes man i would sample that stuff .

check out flea markets og yard sales, go trough the old stacks at your girl parents, get back in touch with your alcoholic uncle..

I will give you the records for free but you have to come up with a way to pay for the shipping.

You should try asking the guy at the record shops if they have anything older (or whatever records u want). If you let them know theres cats that will buy that shit they will be more likely to have it.

But really man, from my own experience, you can make crazy deals when buying record-stacks from people that ad. Much cheaper than buying records at the store. But it's more fun though....

ebay and online record stores, like dusty groove. Spend a little more, but then you are just buying straight heat. Also talk to the radio stations and college radio stations out there, maybe you can weed some of there collections out. also find some dj friends and pool resoucres. Online shopping though seems to be your best bet though. Just do your homework on the artists and try to download, or preview them online to see if your digging it.

Innitially, it's kinda costly, but in the end, you save!
Buy a cd-turntable. Get a free account on www.365live.com (internet radio) and record whatever you would like. They have many catagories. If you want classical, reggae, spanish, whatever. I record it while I'm sleeping .. break down the tracks when I wake up(I don't do this often, just once in a while) and then transfer it onto cd. WIth the cd turntable, you now have the same feeling as if you bought the vinyl, and you constantly have new sounds without really paying for it.
