syncing mpc 1000 and pro tools?

can someone help me sync pro tools and my mpc 1000? i need exact instructions on how to do it coz ive read the manual and worked out how to make the mpc the slave but the pro tools manual doesnt tell me how to set it up as the master? any help would be appreciated.....thanks

im not positive but it might be

Setup----> peripherals ----->sync ----> port #1

or else its

Setup---->MIDI---->Beat clock---->then choose which output on your interface you would like to go to your mpc input.

remember to set your sync input on mpc

i got m-box 2(pro tools le 7)....i also have a motif rack aswell so everything is running into a mixer and then into pro tools....i have midi out on the m-box going to midi in on the mpc....i have the stereo outs on the mpc going into the mixer then the mixer into pro tools...i got pro tools to the point where when i arm the clock on the transport window,it says in the bottom left corner(waiting to sync)...then when i arm record and push play to start recording it says(cueing machine) but the mpc doesnt do anything.....and as far as i know everything is right on the mpc?

I have the mbox 1 but i hooked up my homeboys mbox2 and it was ready to go out the box. when i get home i will check my stuff to see what i have and post back for you. Sounds like a setting problem within PT, user error, real easy to overlook something. are you running a PC or MAC? can you record any audio?

thankz man...im running pc and yeh i can record audio fine so the signal flow should be cool...i never synced 2 machines b4 so i dunno what it could be.....

PT can't be slaved via midi clock, you need JJ's os and MTC to have the MPC as a master clock.

the idea wasnt to slave pro tools it was to slave the 1k but if that works ill give it a go.......

this shit still aint working man? anyone got any more ideas? i got the mpc running into a mixer then into pro tools but i dont think that would be the problem? and i got my midi cable running from my m-box 2 outs into my mpc in so i should be cool? pro tools is saying that is waiting to sync when i arm the transport clock and when i hit record it says its cueing machine but its not triggering the mpc? if anyone wants to help add me to ur msn mines [email protected]....this posting shit is taking forever.....thankz
