I have a iomega jaz disc (1gb) that i need to refromat. the reformatting has been done, but i forget how to partition the disc using the mpc. After reformatting it shows disc partitions A-z for 39 mb a piece. Ofcourse i would prefer only 2 partitons with 500 mb each..Can you help

In the load menu (Shift+Load), hit FORMAT (F3) and to the right of the screen at the top is the partition section. Just change the way you want your disk partitioned under PARTS. This is how mine works, i'm on a 2kXL with a 2GB Jaz drive.

man ditch those drives and upgrade to a card reader.you'll be glad you did and i doubt if you have to spend more than $60!!!!

Eduacate me. i thought the classic mpc 2000 could use sscsi only..whats a card reader anyhow

there is a scsi card reader for the 2000 at scsiforsamplers.com. a card reader holds compact flash cards, sd cards etc. do a search in the forums there is tons of info them here. the advantage no moving parts like zips and jaz, faster loading time and more readily available media.

Just a note of caution
My jazz died and I lost TONS of valuable data.
Iomega Zips are real stable but Jazz Drives are notorious for crashing on MPCs
Just make sure you make back ups of your data and you should be cool if it dies (hope not)
