Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hope someone can help me out on this one.
I work with a 2000XL and got a 250MB Zip Drive attached to it.
Lately my screen reads "disk read error" when I want to load beats
from my 250MB disks. This error doesn't occur when I pop in my 100 MB disks. Funny thing is that I haven't worked on the MPC lately, so I can hardly believe I f@cked up my 250 disks. They worked fine a couple of weeks ago.

Is this a merely Zip Drive problem or is my MPC bugging?

Help me out ya'll.

Zip drive is slowly dying on you, these are the first symptoms.

i got a jaz drive for $10 and 5 jaz disk for $20 , but my if i dont have my mpc to read my jaz for a long time like 20 to 30 mins it seems like it doesnt wannt detect the jaz drive anymore , its always ...WAIT..................................................... AND IT CONTINUES UNTIL I TURN THE JAZ DRIVE OFF, it still works but i have to restart my jaz drive and wait until the orange light goes out to load a beat, iomega drives is crazy!

If you have a 2k(xl) then drop all those zip/jaz drives and go for a cf card reader 'nuff said.

Jazz/Zip=Devil!!!!

i would see if i could borrow an external zip drive from some so you can get those beats off the disks if you wanted them.

one for a pc with usb would be best, then you can dump the contents to the PC, and upgrade to a flash drive, they cost about the same even less then a zip/jazz drive to buy.
