red and blue MPC 1000

Hi they call me Dj Pound...theirs a guitar center around my way with a nice selection of MPC's. I already own a 2kXL but i was recently playing around with a 1000 at guitar center.
Seeing that the 1000 had 4 band EQ and a compressor along with other built in goodies i was immediately sold on getting myself one soon.

But after reading all the hell you 1000 users have had with the pads on this model, im seriously thinking twice now!
But...answer me this, was the pad problem corrected on this newer red & blue version of the 1000 or are the pads still **** up??!?!

Afaik the black version is the newer one, but its exactly the same as the red & blue. Why dont u sell your sell ur 2k and get a 2500 instead? Just an idea

dont know if i'd ever sell my XL, instead i'd rather add on.
Right now though, its either a 1000 or 2500.
Kinda strapped for cash right now though, so the 1000 was looking rather appealing.
Dont know now though, being that the pads are **** up

pound - this is the 2nd post i've responded to in which you're talking about pads. i'm currently working on a solution that would fix the 1k's pads. all of my pads broke ages ago (some naturally, some because i just took em apart) and i'm currently using a number of different materials to better the design.

no doubt antonym.....like i stated before im probably coppin' a 1000 by the end of this month.

haha you mean when. yeah, don't sweat it. you'll have to get your hands dirty but it's worth knowing your machine. according to VST, nothing other than the pads on the 1000 is built any less durably than other mpcs. My theory is that akai simply ducked on the funds for interlink force sensing resistors (like all other mpcs) for this model so they could save money while still charging mpc prices. never mind them, we'll just take matters into our own hands.
