ADAT Board installed

I have the ADAT 8 output board installed and I wish I bought the Analog outputs.....got it on ebay for a real nice price of $129. so it was worth it but...I wasnt thinking bout running my outputs into compressors, Eq, and other outboard stuff for pre processing sounds before they hit DP4.

Also Does anyone that has this board installed get a squelching type sound when trying to dump????? for some reason, maybe it is the sample rates or maybe it is some type of interference but i find this very low squeelin sound barely audible coming thru......Which also Sux because i cannot gate the sound before recording it into DP......I will probably buy hte Analog outs now too but where the hell do I find this..No One seems to have it and from AKAI or VST you'll pay Full price.

yo, casanostra, I got ad ADAT board in mine 4K goin' into my DPS24. No problem. Sure, samples rates gotta be the same on both machines and clock'ed togetha. Got wordclock?

Yeah I do...I didnt know I had to use wordclock too...is that what they call Jitters?? LOL

Man, ya gotta sync the clocks of da 4K and DP4, ya know what I'm sayin'?
Tell DP4 to lock its clock on ADAT comin' from da 4K, OR, send wordclock from da MOTU piece to da 4K and put da 4K on wordclock sync.

funny thing is even on playback thru monitoring without even recording that squealy noise occurs..i was just using the adats on my 2408mkII as a patch thru to monitor my MPC's adat outs so i can seperate all eight channels when making/sequencing on the MPC using my samples ....and i do ADAT sync not wordclock but it still dont sound better....it is not loud but just not good cuz i cant gate em until im done recording...i shouldnt even need to do that with digital to digital.........

maybe your cable is bad, or maybe the card is defective...
