Cool. First thing to do to get you used to how the pros work PT is:::
1. Create a poppin sequence on your MPC. Set it to loop.
2. Set a track to record in PT and record one or two repeats of the bar. It wont record perfectly, so your gonna have to go in there and manually loop it, no problem.
3. Set the playback in PT to repeat. This is your friend, keep it on at all times.
4. Highlight the recorded sequence in PT with the scrubber and press play, get it to loop perfectly.
5. Copy the perfectly looped recodording, delete the whole sloppily recorded original.
6. Paste the perfectly looped section and name it.
7. Highlight the loop and go to the Audio Suite Menu>Time Compression .
8. In the time compression dialogue box, go to the bars beats tick section delete the numbers there and enter 2, you should now see a bpm listed for your loop.
9. Now go to the transport window click on the little composer so that he is not highlighted, now go to the bpm dialogue box in the bottom right hand corner of the transport window and enter the bpm of your loop .
10. Set the session to grid mode instead of slip, your loop should fit perfectly into the grid....
Once you got this down, your set. You can repeat the process for each track of your MPC sequence, if your have a digi001 or 002 and have all your mixer outs properly set in the digi inputs, the process will obvously be faster then you can record bass lines from your keyboard, other samplers, sound modules, record each drum sound etc...as long as they are all sequenced from the MPC your all good.
Remember you dont need midi, what is the end product of midi....getting audio recorded, so as long as you get the audio recorded in sync, who cares how you did it....
