how do I find the lenght of a pad action in step edit?

New to the MPC production world? Got a music production question that's not really specific to any particular MPC? Try your luck here and get help from our experienced members.

Not sure, I hate the step edit in the 500, I try not to use it unless I really have to, lol .....I guess it's not that bad I just haven't taken the time to really get use to it...if you find out before I do (I don't have time at the moment) please post your findings. Thanks Orazi. 8)

upright, is that parameter not called duration?

Yup ...it sure is!!1 Ok I found it page 37 in the manual. Basically when you locate a note in step edit mode Change the V: to a D: this is the note duration. :D

Dura (Duration)
Settings for the duration of recorded pad/note event in STEP EDIT mode.
As Played
The event is recorded with the duration that you actually played.
Tc%
The duration of recorded event depends on Timing correct value. When TC% is selected, extra field is displayed. You can adjust the
duration with percent of Timing correct value. Value: 1...100

The duration of an instrument note is displayed in the step edit screen. You can also lengthen notes from this screen by simply cursoring to that parameter and spinning your data wheel or entering in your new value with the num pad.

I thought U seen me here before, I've been here since 2002......Longer then U have...

Even doe I been Using my mpc2000xl for 4 years I guess I'm a bit of a newbie on the 500......

Nah, not you, I know you're good to go, but the question was a 500 newbie type joint. That type stuff happens to all of us when we get a new toy and are coming to grips with it.... :lol:
