OS Problem! First post... Help.

I just found this board... looks like I will be spending alot of time here! I downloaded the new OS from Akai's website and loaded it on my mpc1000 by restarting, holding window and pushing rec. it said complete and all looked fine, then my screen went blank, I restart it .... still blank. The screen is lit up and all but there is nothing there... I think I need help

Easy fix.

Hold SHIFT and rotate DATA WHEEL to adjust screen contrast.


Also, make sure to do the factory reset after every new OS install (hold ERASE during power up).


That always works. Unless of course it's really toast...

Ah! Dont say toast... all turned out fine I forgot about the holding shift thing.. . Thanks. All back to normal.

I knew it.

Think I'll go make some toast... oops...
